Understand the resin-bound finish
In a resin-bound installation, aggregate and resin are mixed together before the material is spread and trowelled into place. The stones become part of a bound surface. This differs from resin-bonded surfacing, where stones are scattered onto resin; your quotation should identify the system being proposed.
Put suitable groundwork first
Cracking, movement or an unsuitable base cannot be addressed simply by covering them. We assess the existing construction to decide whether an appropriate overlay is possible or excavation and new groundwork are needed. That preparation is included in the plan before the finish is selected.
Consider the complete drainage route
Water needs a suitable route through or away from the construction. We look at falls, ground conditions and the relationship with doorways, garages and adjoining areas. A permeable resin-bound finish depends on suitable supporting layers and a drainage design for the particular site.
